Treble Cone received 22cm of new snow at the top of the Home Basin last night, more at the top of the Saddle Basin, and 10 – 15cm down across the lower mountain at the Base Building and Platter.

The new snow combined with great snowmaking conditions and a huge effort from our snow making crew, has allowed for the ski area to tentatively reschedule it’s Opening Day for this Friday the 4th of July, 2014.

The forecast for the coming days shows more light snowfalls across the mountain and freezing temperatures, which should allow for around the clock snowmaking in the Home Basin, which in turn will allow the snow making team to deliver a snow cover on the lower Home Basin trails which will allow the ski area to open.

If temperatures allow for the Friday opening as planned, Opening Day should see the Home and Saddle Basin open with groomed trails, plenty of off-piste terrain untracked and waiting to be claimed, and the Treble Cone Cafe, Rentals, Retail Shop, and Snow Sports School all open and ready for business.

As part of our Opening Day celebrations we will have Amisfield Bubbles on the Sun Deck at 11am, and live music by Robbie McCulloch on the Plaza from 12.30pm.

Skiers and snowboarders should watch the TrebleCone.com snow report over the coming days for updates.
