Aspen Mountain will open this Saturday with 130 acres of top-to-bottom skiing and riding, five days before the resort’s scheduled opening. Snowmass will open as scheduled on Thursday, Nov. 22 with terrain off the Big Burn and Elk Camp lifts.

Aspen Mountain unveils more than 3,200 feet of vertical serviced by the Silver Queen Gondola, Ajax Express, Little Nell and Bell chairs. Runs will include One & Two Leaf, Upper Copper, Deer Park, Silver Bell, Silver Dip and Dipsy along with Spar Gulch and Little Nell.

The Sundeck restaurant and Ajax Tavern will be open with food and beverage options.

“Our teams have been working incredibly hard to provide as much terrain as possible for early opening,” says Katie Ertl, senior vice president of mountain operations.

“As we continue to work hard throughout the week leading up to opening, we will expect flash openings on more advanced terrain as we see fit and safe.”

The Ski and Snowboard Schools as well as Four Mountain Sports will be open for business as usual. Ski and Snowboard rentals will be available at a 40% discount at the Four Mountain Sports location in Aspen, and 20% off Silver, Gold and Platinum tune services.

For opening weekend through Wednesday, Nov. 21, lift tickets are $99 per day for adults and $59 for children, teens and seniors. Half-day tickets for adults are $68 and $41 for children, teens and seniors. All pass products are good for the early opening.

Aspen Mountain lifts will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Ticket offices are currently open at the base of Aspen Mountain and at the Snowmass Base Village Gondola seven-days a week.

Snowmass is scheduled to open Thursday, Nov. 22, Thanksgiving Day with up to 475 acres of terrain. Skiable areas will include the Big Burn, Max Park, Lunch Line, Upper Scooper and Lower Hals to bottom of Village Express. Elk Camp will service Bull Run, Grey Wolf, Bear Bottom, Gunner’s View and the Elk Camp Meadows Beginner area.

The Breathtaker Alpine Coaster will also be open, and the Elk Camp Restaurant, Up 4 Pizza and Sam’s Smokehouse will be fully operational with food and beverage options.

Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk Mountain are scheduled to open Saturday, Dec. 8.
