Aussie halfpipe snowboarder has had a stellar season winning The Dew Tour, the X Games in Aspen, the US Grand Prix, the FIS World Champs, the Laax Open and now the US Burton Open halfpipe putting James at the top of the snowboard world and undefeated this season with six from six wins.

After winning the first place podium, the 24 year old snowboarder from Victoria took the victory lap to high five the fans on the side of the halfpipe in a signature move from James this season.

Japanese boarder, Raibu Katayama came second with 90.49 and fellow Japan snowboarder Yuto Totsuka took bronze with 87.12.

“I wanted to ride my snowboard the way I do and I was able to do that and am over the moon” said James at the end of the competition.

“It’s been an amazing season and coming up second in semis put a fire under my butt and I didn’t like finishing there.”

James didn’t finish there, he went on to first place in the finals. The fire clearly worked.
