If you’ve ever surfed the perfect wave or skied or boarded pure powder then you understand the true nature of being in the flow state. That moment of freedom when thoughts are suspended and you are one with your sport.
“Strange magic happens when a bunch of open-minded strangers come together and pitch in for each other- they start to feel like family. So we quite deliberately avoid staying in fancy hotels and putting people in private rooms. That is not the Flowstate way.
We attract awesome people, so rest assured you will meet people who will become life long friends. We create a fun environment and a culture of giving back to ourselves and to the group… with anything we have to offer: cooking, bad jokes, good jokes, games, foot-massages, chocolate, impromptu singing, cups of tea, bullet-proof coffee, fabulous company.”
Flow State Adventure
Few sporting activities connect so essentially with Mother Nature than ocean sports and snow sports. They rely on the tides, the moon, the seasons, the weather, the flow.
Which is why we are so intrigued by Flow State Adventure’s ‘Fire Up Your Flow’ retreat in Niseko from March 8 to 15 next year. This is a yoga retreat with a difference, or is it a ski and snowboard retreat with a difference?
Either way the combination of yoga, meditation, Flow State coaching and buckets of deep powder skiing and boarding promises to deliver powerful methods to develop deeper relaxation, awareness and flow in every day life, whilst pushing progression on the mountain.
We all need some of that, right?
The Niseko retreat is the brain child of Jiro Taylor who already runs the successful Flowstate hub of performance coaching, meditation and yoga on Sydney’s surf mecca, the Northern Beaches. Resident yoga guru, Troy, shares a love of powder and the healing powers of yoga and will also be on call.
Expect to spend seven nights in the ultimate private ski chalet with some seriously mindful and motivated peeps. Chalet Murasaki is the only true ski in ski out luxury chalet in Niseko.
You’ll get daily guided meditation and Flow State coaching, daily restorative yoga, healthy breakfasts, Thai yoga massages, a five day Niseko all mountain pass and a one day Rusutsu pass and daily private mountain guiding.
Plus there’s a full day backcountry powder tour featuring a private mountain, a fleet of snowmobiles, a mad Rastafarian and ridiculous amounts of snow (this could be the best day of your life).
Intrigued? Same here.
The cost for your head on a bed in the Flow State chalet with all the retreat inclusions is AU$3200 per person. There’s a maximum of twelve people so get in touch with Jiro if you’re keen and he’ll talk you through the whole process.
