SilverStar in Canada is now home to a new 8-seater gondola in time for the northern winter. The new gondola, launched during summer, is three times faster than the previous chairlift, meaning more time spent on the slopes skiing.

The ride takes a mere four and a half minutes from village to summit, traveling at five meters per second, over a distance of 1063 metres with a vertical rise of 293 metres.

The new Gondola is also a welcomed addition to the children’s programs, providing better ski school access by allowing instructors to transport seven children all together up the mountain.

“With the promise of a huge ski season in Canada we are excited to announce the arrival of SilverStar’s new Gondola to our Australian visitors” said Jane Cann, SilverStar Mountain Resort’s Chief Executive Officer.

“The smooth, fast efficiency of the Gondola earmarks it as the most innovative ski in/ski out mid-mountain resort in Canada, and ensures we can provide a truly relaxing, user friendly and indulgent ski holiday for our guests.

“And here’s a scoop – only the locals know that during February and March, when the resort quietens down that the snow is actually at its peak with a season-long strong base but still plenty of fresh powder falling.”

With the Canadian exchange rate much friendlier than the U.S, andSilverStar’s lift-tickets priced better than most of the big ski resorts – a Canadian ski adventure has never been more affordable.
