Surfs up, just not where you know it. If all goes according to plan you’ll find Wiseman’s Surf Lodge on the banks of the Hawkesbury River at Wiseman’s Ferry come 2022.

The Hills Shire Council this week approved the 45 acre surfing resort complete with massive wave pool as big as four football fields in length. Expect waves from the US surf tech giant, Surfloch, as high as 2.5 metres in varying shapes.

Say what?

It’s good news for Sydney’s in-landers who currently have to travel to the coast to find their swell. Now they can hang ten on a wave of their dreams with a club membership that includes a 9 hole golf course, members clubhouse, restaurant, bar and more.

There’s even 54 suites to bed down in a refurbed hotel to be designed by Kelvin Ho who created The Newport for Merivale on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

The project has been costed out at $75million so it’s just as well it has the likes of Jaron Mitchell (4 Pines Brewing co-founder), digital marketer John Du Vernet and Sean Ronan from Balter Brewing Company behind it.

Add surfing pros Stephanie Gilmore, Joel Parkinson, Josh Kerr, Alana Blanchard and more.
