Colorado’s ski resorts close in the face of coronavirus crisis

The Telluride Gondola.

Both Vail Resorts and Alterra Mountain Company announced the closure of all of their resorts this morning in the face of the coronavirus epidemic.

Now, according to a Telluride statement, the Governor of Colorado has informed Colorado Ski Country that an executive order will be put into place tonight (local time) for all of the state’s ski resorts to close for a period of time.

This means that all Colorado resorts not already closing under the Vail Resorts and Alterra Mountain Company banners will also close.

Telluride made an announcement on their social today, as have Arapahoe Basin and Loveland Ski Resorts.

Aspen also announced they would be closing.

More to come.
