Mile high maple bacon to get you in the Canadian mood

You know those flights from Qantas direct to Vancouver in January we told you about? Well, they’re being served up with maple bacon just to get you in the mood.

Business class passengers can expect Canadian pancakes with bacon, maple syrup, potato and corned beef hash for breakfast. Yep, breakfast.

They can also expect Canadian Steelhead salmon with maple (there it is again) and mustard glaze, broccolini and jasmine rice.

Snacks will be Miss Vickie’s potato crisps and Purdy’s Walnut and Maple (again) cream chocolates.

Premium Economy get Montreal smoked beef sandwiches on rye with mustard, pickles and coleslaw and pecan shortbread biscuits.

We can’t guarantee the sandwich will look like this but it has our mouths salivating already

We think Qantas should add some other Canadian dishes that have us dreaming of late night feasts in the mountain regions and back lane restaurants in the cobbled alleys of Montreal and Quebec.

Still hungry? The Huffington Post have listed Canada’s greatest food offerings and yes, poutine features.
