Scotty James just won his second gold in the X Games superpipe after winning his first in Aspen two years ago and silver last year.
The Australian Olympic snowboarder has already had a stellar season with three golds from three events. He won gold at the FIS World Cup in Copper Mountain and gold again at the Laax Open in Switzerland. Now he’s added X Games gold to his collection this season as he heads to the FIS World Championships in Park City next.
The 24 year old snowboarder from Victoria broke his snowboard during super pipe training and competed on a new board at X Games. His first run wasn’t so flash (18.33) but he came back with 94 on his second, effectively winning the event.
With all the panache of a seasoned professional having a great time and thanking his fans, he took to the third run, having already secured gold after no one beat his 94 score, and simply rode the pipe high fiving the crowd on either side. A move he also did at Laax. Legend.
Yuto Totsuka from Japan took out silver with 90 and Danny Davis took bronze with 83.66.
