What if you could swap a parking space in Sydney for the keys to your very own ski lodge in Japan?
Welcome to the private Akakura Akarien Hotel in Myoko—just 2.5 hours from Tokyo via Shinkansen. This renovated lodge is only a one-minute stroll from the village main street and a 200-metre walk to the Akakura Kanko ski lifts, where fresh powder awaits you daily. Did someone say, location, location, location?
With 13 rooms and 30 beds in flexible configurations, there’s space for your entire crew—family, friends, or future guests. The lodge comes fully equipped with a commercial kitchen, dining room, bar, games room, laundry, and a ski drying room—everything you need to turn winter dreams into reality.
Myoko Kogen is home to five ski resorts and only half an hour from nearby Madarao, Nozawa and Lotte Arai. The town is on the rise with Singapore company, Patience Capital Group, looking to spend AUD$2.2billion to create a Myoko ski village on 350 acres close to town.
Now is the time to get “in” on the real estate market before it’s completely out of reach.
How do you get all of this for a mere AUD$100,000?
The team behind the highly successful fractional ownership of Aya Lodge in Madarao (that was oversubscribed when a similar offer was put into the market) have 20 fractional ownerships up for grabs for savvy investors through an Australian trust – Akakura Akarien Myoko Unit Trust.
With fractional ownership you can own a slice of the lodge for personal enjoyment while potentially gaining long-term capital growth.
The lodge currently operates as a bed and breakfast during the Japanese winter season, but will transition to a semi-private lodge with a hybrid service model in 2026. Translated? You get to stay in a semi-private lodge that you own, complete with staff and breakfast service. Think of it as a club style lodge with benefits.
What you get for your money
You’ll outlay $100k for a 5% share of Akakura Akarien Hotel via the Akakura Akarien Myoko Unit Trust (meaning you own your share of the Trust’s capital and income).
Plus you’ll hand over a one time contribution to Capex Account $10,000 AUD for value improvements
For this you’ll have unrestricted use of the lodge outside the winter season from April 1st to December 10th.
Then access to the lodge for up to 30 days during the winter season for your direct family members only—maximum of 1 Family Room (sleeps 6) or 2 Twin/Triple Rooms (sleeps 6)—subject to our owners’ booking policy. And with the hybrid service model you get access to guest breakfast service, room cleaning, and general housekeeping.
The lodge operates as a semi-private facility, accepting external bookings only after confirming all owner reservations for the winter season
Your extended family and friends also get discounted pricing – standard rates apply less 25% (subject to availability).
But wait, there’s more. Shared use of the kitchen for preparing home-cooked meals (except during the guest/owner breakfast service during Winter); shared use of the lodge vehicle(s) (8-Seater 4WD’s) when not needed by staff for official duties; long-term storage for your ski/snowboard equipment and clothing (if required).
