Club Med launches two new snow resorts in Japan and France

Club Med this year unveils two new premium snow resorts with modern design and authentic cultural ties, as part of their promise to provide next-level snow holidays in the ultimate winter destinations with amazing experiences, made easy.

Club Med Tomamu in the Hokkaidō region of Japan and Club Med Samöens in the French Alps will both welcome guests from December 2017. Bookings for the resorts will be available from 1 February 2017 as part of Club Med’s best value Early Bird booking offer.

“Club Med is in the business of creating happiness,” says Madeleine Clow-Suares, General Manager, Club Med ANZ. “With the launch two new resorts in incredible destinations, Australian snow-lovers will have even more options for experiencing their idea of happiness, both on and off the slopes.

“With our promise of delivering the world’s best snow holidays, we strive to always make the experience as easy as possible with new innovations and services, giving our guests the gift of more time to spend doing what they love with who they love.”

The launches signal Club Med’s plans to open a minimum of one new snow resort each year, to cater for growing consumer tastes for hassle-free snow holidays in diverse, authentic locations.

CLUB MED TOMAMU, HOKKAIDŌ, JAPAN

Following a 173 per cent increase in Australians travelling to its Asian ski resorts over the past five years, Club Med Tomamu will open in the Shimukappu Village of the Hokkaidō province in the North of Japan, joining the existing Club Med Beidahu (China), Club Med Yabuli (China) and Club Med Sahoro Hokkaidō (Japan).

Recently rated by Lonely Planet as a ‘Best in Asia’ location to visit’ due to its mountainous landscape and alpine villages, Hokkaidō is now easily accessible thanks to a new bullet train link with Tokyo.

Club Med Tomamu will combine endless winter sports adventures in a majestic untouched wilderness, with authentic Japanese culture and cuisine.

For thrill-seekers, 29 runs, spanning 21kms beckon; suitable for beginners through to advanced levels. World- class powder will reward snow enthusiasts with skiing and boarding, snow trekking, snow biking, snowmobiling, snow rafting and more.

The incredible experiences continue off-the-slopes, including ice slides, skating, an ice bar and dining at the local ice village; fun at Japan’s largest indoor wave pool; and relaxation in the Kirin-no Yu open-air bath.

Once guests have worked up an appetite, they can satisfy their taste buds and curiosity with Japanese and international delicacies, including fresh seafood, at Tomamu’s Itara restaurant, and speciality Japanese Yakiniku barbecue at a la carte restaurant, Haku.
