A landmark collaboration between Thredbo Resort and Snow Australia today presents a major milestone for Australia’s freestyle ski and snowboard pathway.
The Thredbo Triple Crown Slopestyle and Big Air events will now be officially sanctioned as FIS competitions and included in the prestigious Australian New Zealand Cup (ANC) Series, providing athletes greater opportunities to gain recognition, earn FIS points, and progress toward success on the international stage.
The 2025 Thredbo Triple Crown Series, presented by Boost Mobile, will host the first park FIS events in Australia since 2022.
FIS-registered athletes will now have the opportunity to earn FIS points across Youth, Junior and Open categories – all judged using the official FIS point scale. With points counting toward both the Triple Crown and ANC standings, athletes have the unique opportunity to earn valuable FIS points while competing for a share of the $60,000 prize pool, offering dual pathways for performance recognition and career progression.
The winner of the ANC series, determined by results from two Slopestyle events and one Big Air, will earn a personal World Cup quota spot for the 2025/26 season. This is a crucial stepping stone for Australian athletes eyeing qualification for the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympic Games.
This collaboration shines a spotlight on Thredbo’s deepening commitment to athlete development and solidifies the Triple Crown’s status as a premier competition series in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Thredbo Triple Crown Slopestyle event is taking place on August 1, and Big Air on August 25.
