Hotham and Falls Creek have tonight announced that chairlifts will stop spinning from 11.59pm tonight until the same time on Tuesday, July 20 due to the state wide lockdown in Victoria.

The resorts sent out an update to skiers and boarders this evening.

“We know that this is devastating news for our guests, employees and local communities, and want you to know that we share this sadness with you. Our teams will continue to work hard to ensure that we’re ready to welcome you back when the lockdown has lifted.

We understand that this announcement will impact our guests in different ways, and we appreciate your understanding and patience. For any guests with upcoming holidays who now cannot travel, please visit our website to find out more about cancellations and refunds.

The safety of our guests, staff and community is, and always will be, our highest priority and we encourage everyone to follow the lockdown rules so we can get back on the slopes as soon as possible.

We stand by you, and look forward to seeing you back on the mountain soon. For more information and updates head to our website.”
