If you love park and pipe, slopestyle, parkour, tubing, skate boarding, BMX and more then congratulations, all your Christmases have come at once in Park City this season.

The team behind the highly successful Woodward Mountain Parks in Copper, Mt Bachelor, Killington and Boreal are opening a world class year round action sports destination on the edge of Park City.

They’re calling it an integrated campus or an action sports hub, we’re calling it 60 acres of winter fun come December. The park features 10 different sports and activities including: snowboarding, skiing, tubing, mountain biking, skateboarding, BMX, scooter, parkour, cheer and digital media.

Woodward Park City will have lift accessed park style snowboarding and skiing (mountain biking in the summer) with a series of progressive terrain parks and a 22 foot super pipe. It’s all from the team at Powdr Corporation, founded by Mountain Hardwear co-founder John Cumming.

You may remember Powdr Corp as the guys that originally owned Park City Mountain, had a lease lapse for a milisecond, all hell broke loose and Vail Resorts bought them for US$180 million.

Now they are a tight knit Adventure Lifestyle Company and own 10 mountain resorts including Copper, Killington, Mt Bachelor, Snowbird. Plus Powderbird Heli skiing operation and 5 Woodward Parks and are turning the cables on a chairlift in Park City again.

The purpose built playground is not far from Wholefoods and the Tanger Outlet Mall, down near the I-80 at Summit Park for those familiar with Park City.

You can expect everything from first timer to Olympic style indoor and outdoor training and even two surface lifts to take thrill seekers to the two longest tubing lanes in Utah.

Best of all, it’s open 365 days and nights of the year. So when you’re done with the skiing at Park City Mountain and Deer Valley but junior still has energy to burn, then, well you know where you’re heading.

Add indoor tumble floors, tramps, foam pits and you seriously won’t see your kid for days. Book them in for some progression lessons with fellow kids of similar ability and watch them thrive. Then watch the sponsors come a calling and that Olympic podium. Oh, oops, got ahead of myself.

How it works
