Video games, bean bags, massage and human snow globes are just some of the creature comforts for Australia’s athletes in the PyeongChang Athlete Village.

Australians staying at the Athlete Village in the Mountain Cluster have their own shared apartments with a communal gathering apartment for all to congregate in. A physiotherapy room with two physiotherapists on site from Australia, a medic room with the team doctor, a recovery room with cycles, a bathroom complete with ice bath and a shared kitchen area with nutritionist are just some of the offerings for our athletes.

Team nutritionist Alison Miles has put together a selection of meal offerings to supplement the athlete village canteen including a taste of home with Australian brand cereals, muesli bars alongside protein shakes, coffee pods and fresh fruit.

Athletes in the village also have access to a canteen dining hall and various elements of play including a giant snow globe for selfie photographs using QR codes and props.

As expected, the Boxing Kangaroo makes a large mark on the outside of the team building. Other nations have decorated theirs with their own flags and Canada even has a plaid wearing moose.
