Australia’s gold and bronze Olympic medal legend, five time Winter Olympian, Lydia Lassila has thrown open the doors of her stunning beach house in Lorne Victoria for holiday makers this southern summer.

Trust us, you’ll want the keys to this home. Aerial Skier Lydia and her Finnish husband, fellow Winter Olympian and mogul skier Lauri, have spent the last few years creating the summer home of their dreams.

Naturally it comes with an in ground trampoline, a Finnish sauna with ocean views, a plunge pool, a pilates studio and a gym. But it also features polished concrete floors, feature stone and rendered English Oak walls across three stories all with expansive water views.

Now THAT’s a sauna! Photo: Ocean Road Holidays

Add high ceilings, natural light, central fireplace, multi media cinema room, what feels like a gazillion bedrooms and bath tubs with pool views.

If you follow Lydia on social then you will have witnessed the build and the creativity and attention to detail expected from a highly focused Olympian. It’s the details that get you on the podium.

They’ve named the property Scandi House and it can be rented for a full week at a time only. Scandi House is a barefoot zone, no shoes inside, though slippers are always provided. There’s an outdoor fire pit for dusk drinking as the sun sets, a gas BBQ for daytime grills and the retreat is close to Lorne for nights out in local dining dens.

Lydia has also hung local art work upon the walls so if something takes your fancy you can track down the artist while you’re in town.

The property sleeps up to 9 guests in 4 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms and is available from AUD $1235 per night from Great Ocean Road Holidays.
