Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner, Perisher has announced they will open this Friday, June 4. The first resort in Australasia to turn their chairlifts this winter.

With Victoria currently in lockdown, there’s little hope that Mt Buller will trump them this year, but you never know.

Perisher will open Front Valley for skiing and snowboarding with the Village Eight Express turning for the first time in 2021 with a beginners carpet also open. The Mitchell T-Bar will then open the next day on Saturday, June 5.

The Slopestyle Terrain Park will also be in action.

Lift passes go on sale tomorrow with day ticket prices revealed then. One day passes for the original opening date of June 12 are currently AUD$139.

Lift tickets, lessons, rentals and Skitube for the rest of the season will all go on sale from tomorrow as well.
