After recent well received snowfalls, Wanaka’s beloved Treble Cone has extended their season by another week.

The resort’s original closing day was scheduled for September 6 and was extended until September 13. Now they’ve extended again and gone from zero to hero after rain had closed the resort for days at a time during the season.

Ullr has delivered and locals are now sporting powder grins.

This weekend will be the last for the Learners Slope conveyor and “Nice N Easy” Platter, while the Home Basin Express and the Saddle Quad will continue through for another week.

This extension is due to significant snowfall over the last couple of weeks, as well as high demand from Treble Cone’s guests to continue skiing and snowboarding with the current snow base.

“We’re so stoked to be extending the Treble Cone season by another week,” says Treble Cone and Cardrona General Manager, Bridget Legnavsky.

“Our people have shown that they want to keep skiing and snowboarding on the maunga, and the snow conditions have just kept getting better recently – it’s all lining up for a fantastic end to the winter.”
