120cm snow storm at Perisher and counting

Australia’s favourite and largest ski resort, Perisher has experienced an incredible spring snowfall this past week with more than 120cms of snow falling in the resort providing the best snow for all skiing and boarding conditions since 2000.

Perisher saw over two metres of snow fall throughout August offering some amazing conditions across the four resort areas of Perisher, Blue Cow, Smiggin Holes and Guthega. Whilst guests thought August was the best month of snowfall in some time, SPRING has trumped winter with further 1.2 metres of snow falling providing the deepest snowpack since the 2000 winter. This snow depth of 233cm, as reported by Snowy Hydro today ensures excellent skiing and snowboarding right through to the end of the season.

Perisher’s Sales & Marketing Manager, Richard Phillips, says “This snowfall is the best we’ve seen in years. To have this much snow fall in the early part of spring is sensational. The best since 2000! We have extended our season until Sunday 8 October and this new snow will ensure great conditions through to the end of the NSW school holiday period. Come and join us in Perisher for some EPIC spring skiing and boarding.”

Perisher is truly Spring Loaded right through to the end of the season with plenty to enjoy. As well as amazing spring snow conditions there is a huge range of events throughout September including the BrewSki Craft Beer and Cider Festival, Mountain Dew Banked Slalom, exclusive après parties and Pond Skim. With something happening every week in spring there is no excuse for missing out on all the fun action in Perisher.

With the weather forecast to clear for the weekend it is shaping to be one of the best weekends skiing and boarding in Perisher for many years. All this snow comes on the back of the best snow conditions in 5 years and Perisher extending the season through till Sunday 8 October. It’s shaping up to be an EPIC end to the season. See what we did there…
