Treble Cone have invested some big dollars for the 2016 ski season with a $1million upgrade to the Home Basin Express, two new Kassbohrer PistenBully grooming machines  imported from Italy, a new dedicated Family Chill Zone, new end-of-day BBQ outlet, new daily transport services from Wanaka to Treble Cone and more.

HOME BASIN EXPRESS UPGRADE

The existing Home Basin Express six-seater chairlift’s $1 million upgrade, which includes the installation of a new AC Drive and Motor, and new electrical controls is nearing completion.

2 X NEW GROOMING MACHINES

Following the popularity of Treble Cone’s expanded commitment to snow grooming over recent years coupled with the successful intermediate terrain developments in the Saddle Basin, Treble Cone will be upgrading its two grooming machines with two brand new state-of-the-art PistenBully groomers valued at half a million dollars each.

The two new Kassbohrer PistenBully grooming machines will both be winch groomers imported from Italy, with one being a PB400 and the other a PB600 Polar.

The upgrade of the two grooming machines will increase reliability of the hard-working fleet and ensure that Treble Cone continues to deliver long, wide groomed trails every night, providing fantastic corduroy skiing and snowboarding for guests to enjoy daily, and helping Treble Cone’s grooming team manage snow cover across the mountain.

NEW FAMILY CHILL ZONE

New for the fast approaching New Zealand ski season, Treble Cone Ski Area (Wanaka, New Zealand) will be launching a free to use Family Chill Zone, believed to be the first of its kind. The new Family Chill Zone will provide a new indoor dedicated room for parents with infants and toddlers to relax, either for a few minutes or a couple of hours, away from the excited bustle of the cafes in a room specifically furnished as a child and parent friendly environment.

NEW JUCY SIZZLE BBQ

The Treble Cone F&B team supported by our official rental car partner JUCY Rentals will be introducing a new outdoor BBQ – ‘The JUCY Snag’. The JUCY Snag will be open daily from 3-4pm serving up gourmet hot dogs in crusty bread rolls and cold drinks to skiers and riders as they return to the car parks at the end of the day. The JUCY Snag will be located alongside the outdoor fireplace between the Plaza and Sun Deck outdoor dining areas. Seriously, who can resist the smell of barbecued sausages and onions?

NEW #SNOWAYBRO PHOTO & VIDEO COMP

Through Treble Cone’s Facebook and Instagram accounts the mountain is encouraging guests to share their TC photos and videos in it’s new SnoWayBro Competition.

Simply by tagging #treblecone and #snowaybro in images and video captured on the mountain contributors will be entered to win 1 of 2, 5 day Powder Passes or the equivalent value off a Treble Cone Season Pass for 2017. Users are invited to vote on the best images and videos throughout the season via Treble Cone’s Facebook page.

NEW WANAKA – TREBLE CONE SHUTTLE SERVICE

Getting to the mountain will become even easier this winter, with new daily shuttle services from Wanaka to Treble Cone being added which will be available as transport only or packaged with a Treble Cone Lift Pass, Lift + Rental Pass, or Scenic Chairlift Rides. The new service will provide additional daily return services throughout the length of the season, with increased services in July and August.

These new services will be in addition to the great existing services operated by Yello Transport out of Wanaka and both Kiwi Discovery and Info and Snow out of Queenstown. Schedule and pricing will be available online from May 2016. Subject to final confirmation.

NEW LEARN TO SKI 1 – 2 – FREE

Treble Cone’s NEW Learn to Ski 1 – 2 – FREE programme has been launched to help introduce new skiers and riders to the fun of skiing and snowboarding with real progression over 3 days.

The programme includes enough time on the snow to really progress from a ‘first timer’ to a ‘beginner’ skier and includes ski or snowboard equipment hire, a daily two hour group Snow Sports School lesson with one of Treble Cone’s handpicked professional instructors, and more.

When a first time skier or snowboarder purchases a Treble Cone First Timer Package (adult $99 / child $85) for Day 1, and a Beginner Plus package (adult $99 / child $85) for Day 2, Treble Cone will provide an additional free Beginner Plus package for Day 3 to ensure the basics of skiing or snowboarding a really picked up.

NEW SPRING HOLIDAY CAMPS

Treble Cone has extended the snow season to include the first week of the September/October School Holidays with Closing Day now on the 2nd of October. In doing so Treble Cone Snow Sports School is able to offer a Spring School Holiday Camp for both Race and Freeride skiers.

The Spring School Holiday Camps will run from the 26th to the 30th of Sept and are aimed at 6 – 17 years old, they include 5 days of coaching and cost $390 NZD.
