You’ve got x weeks to find yourself a life partner and get hitched with a Wes Anderson style winter wedding twist.

The savvy Wānaka crew at Alpine Altar have put together the cute-as-a-button wedding package that won’t cost you a house deposit. With a three day pop-up speed wedding schedule.

Bring up to 10 guests and get hitched at the altar of a 150 year old chapel, the old Cardrona Church, skipping distance from the Cardrona Hotel where you can celebrate your new nuptials with mulled wine around the outdoor fire. Prefer to pre or post wedding ski? Cardrona Alpine Resort’s also just up the road.

The Alpine Altar concept is simple, choose the date August 27, 28 or 29 and the hour (10am, midday, 2pm or 4pm) and book your 60 minute wedding. Celebrant Siobhain Hooper will legally wed you (while she’s wearing sparkly pants) and wedding planner Sera Bowden will take care of the rest. No stress, literally, it’s all sorted.

For NZD$4800 (AUD$3989) you’ll get a dreamily styled venue for the wedding, a short and sweet 15 minute legal ceremony, a photographer for an hour and two witnesses (if you don’t bring your own). Plus a welcome pack with local recommendations for hair & make up, florists et al.

Want cake? For NZD$200 (AUD$166) you can chow down on a bespoke Alpine Altar cake by the team at White Rabbit Cakes. It can feed 10 people and choose from white chocolate raspberry, chocolate or champagne berry.

Want video for the gram? The crew at Bowden Studio will capture your nuptials and provide a 30 second highlight reel for NZD$600 (AUD$498).

Keen? Run, don’t walk, and organise a Kiwi elopement like no other here.
