The Qantas Group has today announced a major trans-Tasman expansion including Qantas’ first A220 international service between Brisbane and Wellington and a new direct Jetstar route from Brisbane to Queenstown next year.

Jetstar will begin direct flights between Brisbane and Queenstown from June 2026, giving Queenslanders more choice to world class skiing in just under four hours.

The service will operate three times a week during the snow season (June to October) on Jetstar’s A320ceo aircraft, offering more than 17,000 low fare seats each year.

The new route will be available to book at jetstar.com at 1pm AEST today, with one-way flights from Brisbane to Queenstown from $249.

Jetstar and Qantas will add almost 210,000 seats between Australia and New Zealand next year across four routes including Brisbane to Auckland, Melbourne to Christchurch and Sydney to Auckland.
