Melbournites and Sydneysiders: if a snow trip has been on your mind (and really, when is a snow trip not top of mind?), the 2026 Snow Travel Expo is where you need to be this month.
This free event brings together snow travel experts from more than 70 resorts across the globe, including Japan, Canada, the USA, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea and China.
Whether it’s your first time or your annual pilgrimage, you’ll get direct access to the people who know these mountains inside out. Expect the best deals, latest snow gear, presentations from seasoned travellers and a seriously tempting lineup of giveaways.
From where to go to what’s new for 2026, here’s what to expect.
Where and when to go
Melbourne kicks things off first, with the expo running from 9am to 4pm on Sunday May 17 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre in Southbank (access via door 10).
Sydney follows the week after on Sunday May 24, also from 9am to 4pm. For 2026, the expo is moving to a brand new venue at the Hordern Pavilion in Moore Park. Great public transport access and excellent parking (two hours free at Wilson Parking Moore Park!) makes for a perfect day out planning your next winter adventure.
Tickets are completely free for both cities, all you need to do is register online.
Win international snow holidays
Free entry is just the beginning. Once you’re registered, you’ll automatically go into the draw for a huge range of prizes, including international ski holidays and major pass giveaways.
This includes…

A multi-stop Utah snow experience combining city, slopes and scenery: return flights to Salt Lake City with Delta Air Lines, accommodation across Salt Lake City, Park City and regional stays, plus lift tickets at Solitude Mountain Resort, Snowbird and Deer Valley Resort. The prize also packs in rentals, a rental car, Nordic or snow activities, unique local experiences and even a Utah Mammoth hockey game.

Niseko, Japan ski trips (x2)
Two winners will score a five-night snow trip to Niseko, including accommodation, six-day lift passes and six-day ski hire for two. It’s a powder-focused getaway to one of Japan’s most famous ski destinations.

Jackson Hole & Big Sky ski holidays (flying Delta Air Lines)
The Snow Travel Expo has also partnered with Gold 104.3 Melbourne and Gold 101.7 Sydney. Two major US ski trips are up for grabs through the radio stations, one to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and one to Big Sky Resort, both including return flights with Delta Air Lines, seven nights’ accommodation, lift passes, rentals and transfers. The Jackson Hole trip adds wildlife tours and a night observatory experience, while Big Sky includes First Tracks access and an Enchanted Forest evening.
But you have to be in it to win any of the above, so click here to sign up for your free tickets and enter the draw.
What to see and do at the expo

The expo floor is packed with inspiration. You’ll find global resorts sharing insider tips and must-ski runs, specialist tour operators ready to help plan your trip, airlines and travel experts offering advice and deals, and snow gear brands showcasing the latest equipment.
Fan-favourite activations are back too, alongside new experiences for 2026. This includes including themed lounges, interactive displays and a few après-style surprises. Swing by the Ikon Pass Après Lounge or Colorado Ski Bar for a tipple, wander through the Canada Pavilion, take a pic at the Ski Utah Photo Booth and be sure to pat Saint Bernard dogs.
The presentations
From the moment doors open, there’s a full schedule of talks running all day. Hear from people who live and breathe snow, from working ski seasons overseas to uncovering hidden gems in Japan, North America and beyond.
