If your child’s idea of a good winter involves race lanes, technical drills, all-mountain shred laps and a ski bag that never quite makes it back into storage, there’s a good chance The Arc skier development program in Livigno, Italy will be right up your alley.

This premium coaching program originally founded by Winter Olympian, Jono Brauer, in the Italian Alps has been designed for ski families who want more than a holiday ski school.

The Arc is for kids who already love skiing, have some solid skills under their belt and want to keep progressing in a serious but fun mountain environment.

Think less “pizza turns in Europe” (pun intended) and more “how do we keep this momentum going after the Australian season ends?”

It’s also for parents who love a Euro winter, ski-in après, mineral spas, first tracks and a thriving social program that only the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic village of Livigno can provide.

The tax-free haven of Livigno is known for wide open slopes, plenty of sunshine, a relaxed village feel, great shopping and that brilliant European combo of proper ski infrastructure, very good food, welcoming locals and a pedestrian village so you can stumble home.

The coaching and logistics team

The Arc ski development program has been built by people who understand skiing, family logistics and that very particular chaos that comes with taking children skiing overseas. The Arc is led by Olympian Jono Brauer alongside Gianluca “Pippo” Valeri, Milly Lazzeri and Caroline Brauer.

Jono Brauer brings the elite racing pedigree. A dual Olympian with World Cup experience, he knows alpine skiing from the inside out. Fellow technical skier, Pippo, is a former Italian National Trainer and elite Maestro di sci, has spent more than a decade coaching in Thredbo, plus decades working winters in both France and Italy.

Italian Milly Lazzeri brings 20 years of ski instructing experience across Livigno, Val d’Isère and Thredbo, plus the kind of local knowledge that can make an overseas ski trip feel infinitely easier. As the owner of Livigno’s luxury travel concierge business Autentico, she understands that what happens off the snow matters almost as much as what happens on it.

Caroline Brauer rounds out the leadership team with more than 20 years in marketing, including a stint as Director of Marketing at Thredbo, plus instructing experience in Aspen and Niseko.

This is a coaching program, yes, but it’s also a family operation built by people who understand mountain holidays from both the professional and parental sides.

The Arc is not just about dropping the kids into a lesson and crossing your fingers. There’s adult race training, ladies’ ski days and family experiences such as ice-karting, sunrise skiing and a fun family race, all designed to make the trip feel like a proper family ski holiday rather than a military operation with fondue.

Registration is open for the 2027 January and April programs

Kids spend time with other skiers who are just as into the sport as they are, often from different schools, clubs and resorts back home. They train together, ski together and build the kind of friendships that often become a huge part of why children want to keep coming back to the sport.

For 2027, The Arc is running three core programs, each tailored to different ages and stages.

Alpine Racing is for competitive skiers aged eight and up who want to sharpen their race craft. This is the performance-focused option, with an emphasis on speed, gate training and tactical skills for the race course.

All-Mountain is also for skiers aged eight and above, but with a broader brief. It’s designed for kids who want to ski the whole mountain better, stronger and with more versatility. Alongside alpine foundations, the program introduces other disciplines including slopestyle, ski cross and moguls skills.

For younger siblings, there’s Mini & Tiny Arc, designed for kids aged four to seven. It focuses on the fundamentals — building confidence, safety, movement patterns and comfort on snow — but in a way that feels playful, supportive and age-appropriate. It means little ones get their own quality coaching experience while older brothers and sisters head off into the bigger programs.

Where do I sign?

The program is aimed at upper-intermediate to advanced skiers, so families need to submit a video of their child skiing as part of the registration process. The Arc team reviews each application to make sure the skier is at the right level for the program and can be placed in the best-fit group. If you’re not sure which stream is the best fit, or want to talk through what to expect, The Arc team are happy to chat and guide you further.

Programs are offered in 2 week, 3 week and 4 week options. Training is in 6-day blocks from Sundays – Fridays inclusive with Saturdays the scheduled arrival or rest day.

All programs start with a Welcome Event on the Saturday evening where families will meet the coaching team and receive their welcome bag and lift passes.

How much?

From AUD$4400 for 2 week program including all resort lift pass, 6 days of coaching per week, lunch, video reviews and welcome and farewell family event. Tiny and Mini Arc programs start from AUD$2940.
