Thredbo Top2Bottom bigger than ever

This year’s Top2Bottom race week is set to be huge, with Thredbo and G.H. Mumm teaming up again to bring the ultimate après experience to Thredbo for a week of celebrations and champagne showers.

The iconic downhill race is set to be celebrating its 26th year on August 6th, delivering high paced action both on and off the mountain. On Friday 5th and Saturday 6th, Aussie EDM duo Bag Raiders will be hitting the stage after the Top2Bottom race, bringing the après vibes poolside as they get the crowd moving and grooving under the alpine night sky.

Each year, the famous race sees skiers and snowboarders battle it out for on-snow supremacy as they conquer Australia’s longest, fastest and most iconic downhill snow race.

The race starts as the sun peeks over the horizon allowing competitors to use the full width and length of the Supertrail. Riders line up at the top of the 3.2 kilometre course with their skis and boards in hand and run to launch line where they strap and click in for a fast-paced blast to the bottom.

The battel unfolds as riders head to the village below, dropping 600 vertical metres whilst navigating, gates, straights and other racers. There’s no denying it – Thredbo Top2Bottom is set to deliver adrenalin packed action.

The event draws everyday heroes as well as past and current Olympians, including last year’s winner Scott Kneller and Thredbo snow ambassador Torah Bright, who will both be competing in this year’s race.

Top2Bottom features six categories including pro, women’s, amateur and veterans. Riders must be aged 18 years or older and registration is open via the Thredbo eStore.

Thredbo visitors can enjoy the following G.H. Mumm activities from the 4th to 6th of August 2016:

Electronic legends Bag Raiders will be serving up show-stopping sets poolside at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel

Kareela Hutte, located on Australia’s longest run, at an altitude of 1810m, will host a champagne breakfast on Saturday 6th August
