Vail Resorts invest $85million for 2014/2015 season

Two new chairlifts lead an $85 million enhancement from Vail Resorts.

Vail Resorts have not been shy in pumping some serious cash into the plethora of ski resorts in Colorado, Utah and California under their banner. We’re talking almost $500 million since 2009.

The über swanky Beaver Creek in Colorado will now get a new 6 Combination Lift to replace the Centennial Express and give a thirty five percent increase in uphill capacity. Expect a gondola/six passenger express lift combination with one gondola cabin every five chairs.

The Beave will also welcome thirty four new fully automated snowmaking guns along Gold Dust and Lower Larkspur trails.

Breckenridge launched the Peak 6 last season with some impressive terrain expansion. The new season will see a new Super Chair upgrade from a quad express to a six passenger express plus a Peak 9 Restaurant Renovation.

Over at Vail guests can languish in a renovated The Lodge at Vail. All fifty six hotel rooms and the lobby will be significantly revoted with new interiors, furnishings and more.

The Canyons in Utah will have a new 316 seat restaurant at Cloud Dine.

So that’s how you spend $85million in 2014.
