Skiers and boarders in Japan have a new menu to peruse this winter with the launch of Bali’s surf scene’s Calico restaurant in the ski towns of Hakuba and Myoko.

Known for its motto “Good times. All the time”, Calico has expanded from the sun-soaked beaches of Bali to the snowy peaks of Japan with an all day into night experience in Hakuba and an après ski to dinner and beyond in Myoko.

Created by two best friends, Pat Berrell and Pauly Bacchetto, who share a passion for riding sideways on snow, waves, and concrete, satisfy the cravings of those who live an active lifestyle with tasty treats from breakfast to late-night revelry.

Powder hounds can kick start the snow day in Hakuba with freshly brewed coffee and smoothie bowls or a more classic breakfast burrito with smashed hash browns, bacon, chorizo, jalapeños, cheese and scrambled eggs.

Dig into southern fried chicken, buffalo wings, burgers, corn ribs and more for lunch that leads into dinner.  For après ski try the Calico Crush mix of perol, spiced rum, orange, mint and soca.

You’ll find Calico Hakuba in the heart of Ecoland while Calico Myoko is on the main street and seats up to 100 people (though you’ll still want to book ahead) with a downstairs Holy Smokes speakeasy bar complete with Asahi vending machine “door” to the dance floor.
