Coronet Peak goes all black this weekend

Skiers at Coronet Peak in Queenstown this weekend can ski on customised All Black skis with silver ferns to show their support for the All Blacks Rugby Union team in their Rugby World Cup quest.

With just a few days left to lap up superb sun-soaked days on soft springy snow these school holidays, the mountain’s upping the ante for its final weekend this Saturday and Sunday (Oct 3 and 4).

In support of their boys in black, a selection of Coronet Peak’s rental skis are now proudly ‘all black’ from tip to tail. The all black skis will be available at the bottom of the Coronet Express chairlift for guests to ski a run or two this Saturday (October 3).

The All Black’s play live against Georgia from 8am and the match will be shown on the big screen with a special ‘All Blacks Breakfast’ on offer for $15 including a coffee.

The all black skis proudly bear the distinctive Silver Fern at their tip, giving skiers the perfect photo opportunity for what’s bound to be a celebratory day on the snow.
