A rotating gondola, igloo village and some of the best free ride terrain in Europe. We’ve got seven reasons you should hit up Engelberg Titlis this northern winter in Switzerland.

The skiing

With one of the longest ski seasons in Europe, guaranteed snow from December until late April and on the glacier from October into May, Engelberg Titlis serves up over 82 kilometers of slopes. The longest down hill run is 12 kilometers and the vertical on offer is a huge 2000 metres. Now, that’s a thigh burn. Freeriders will also love the off piste advanced terrain on the glacier for which the area is renowned.

World’s first revolving gondola

The Titlis Rotair revolves 360 degrees as it transports skiers and boarders from mid station to the mountain peak. The gondola reveals steep rock faces and glacial crevasses of this region’s spectacular alpine terrain.

The Titlis Cliff Walk

This is not for the feint hearted. If heights mean nothing to you then skip across the 100 metre long, one metre wide suspension bridge and take in the views. The suspension bridge is the highest in Europe and sits over 3000 metres above sea level, swinging 500 metres of the ground.

The Glacier Cave

Step into an ancient blue ice cave formed by glacial ice from prehistoric times.  The Glacier Cave is accessed from the Titlis Rotair gondola and stretched 150 metres long, 20 metres below the surface of the glacier.

An AIR2BAG

Always wanted to ski off a kicker or a jump but too scared of injury? Try the AIR2BAG and hit the jump knowing you’ll land safely on a bag of, well, air. The 15 x 15 metre cushion is a crowd favourite at Engelberg Titlis and utilized by first timers and professionals. Go on, we dare you!

The Igloo Village

Stay overnight in the resort’s Igloo Village. A small village made purely from ice on top of the mountain. Choose from a romantic igloo for two or bring the whole family and bed down in a four or six person igloo. The igloos have roaring wood fires and the village has an open air hot Jacuzzi for soaking under the stars. There’s even a bar for a nightcap after a cheese fondue.

Electric snowmobile adventure

Race your electric snowmobile around a closed circuit on snow. Titlis offer electric snowmobiles for rent on the snowXpark for adults wanting to rev it up and hit the tight bends or for kids wanting an adrenalin thrill. The snow mobile can be switched to junior mode with a single switch to make it safe for kids aged 12 and over.
