This morning I met three men who were in Park City for a twelve step recovery conference, this afternoon I met 1091 people lined up on Main Street for the world’s largest shot ski. Oh Utah, you are full of surprises.

The landlocked state known for super dry powder snow may also be known for Mormons who don’t consumer caffeine, hot drinks or booze but that has never stopped Park City from partying since the silver mining days.  The Wasatch Brewery celebrated thirty years with 1091 of their closest friends for the world’s longest shot ski, knocking Breckenridge’s 881 out of the ball park and cementing Utah as anything but a dry state.

Historic Main Street in Old Town was blocked off to traffic as locals lined up to make history. Some dressed up for the occasion, others preferred to drink on rooftops and watch the proceedings below. All were happy to make their mark in the record books on a blue sky day.

One shot skier even decided to make her politics known with a Make America Great Again cap, lucky for her (or the other shot skiers) the police were in attendance.

Politics and booze has never ended well in a state where shots can be alcohol or ammunition, so here’s a pic of a puppy spotted in the crowd.
