New to the ski touring market is an exceptional small group product introduced by ‘aussieskier adventures’. The first tours will run in February 2017 in the French Alps.
The founders of specialist ski retailer, aussieskier.com, Richard and Nicole Ross have developed the new travel arm of their business catering to the growing popularity of backcountry skiing and ski touring. This tour offers skiers and alpine enthusiasts a more meaningful and both physically & mentally challenging experience in the solitude of the high-mountain environment.
This first trip will allow guests to explore the Alps with expert guides plus enjoy the comfort of hosted chalet accommodation located in central Chamonix. The tour also includes daily après by the open fire, 4 course evening meals and spectacular views of Mont Blanc from the hot tub.
Small groups will be guided by qualified IFMGA/UIAGM Mountain Guides who ensure guests make the most of the weather and skiing conditions in the area each ski day. Whether it’s exploring the vast Chamonix area, skiing into Switzerland, or heading through the Mont Blanc tunnel to ski and enjoy a Spritz in sunny Italy.
Chamonix is the home of the best lifted skiing terrain on earth. The aussieskier team have been visiting this area for many years, enjoying its steep couloirs, open powder fields, glacial mazes and perfect corn snow.
Given these experiences and their intimate knowledge of the region, as hosts they will provide a next level experience for each guest. With a set of skins and touring bindings, a short or long hike with ‘aussieskier adventures’ will unlock a further myriad of possibilities and adventure.

With a combined 30+ winters experience, both are fully qualified instructors who divided their time between Mt Buller, Victoria and resorts in the USA, most notably Deer Valley where they specialised in private instruction.
