Free beer for Aussies at Vail

Thursday, January 26, both Vail and Park City will celebrate Australia Day on the slopes.

In Vail, as you soon as you step away from Gondola One, it will be hard to miss the Australian flags and inflatable kangaroos adorning Sarge’s Deck at the Mid-Vail Restaurant.

A DJ will be spinning tunes all arvo (11AM – 2PM) long; and for Australia Day only, Aussie food favorites will be served as part of a limited edition menu: meat pies, sausage sandwiches (with grilled onions), Aussie burgers (complete with a fried egg and a slice pineapple) and potato wedges with sour cream and chili sauce; in addition to everyone’s favorite chocolate biccies, Tim Tams.

We’ll be shouting beer for anyone 21years+ with a valid Australian ID. There will be stickers for the kids to help celebrate, and don’t miss out on a great giveaway for the most patriotically dressed attendee. Beer while it lasts.

Park City will be lighting up both base areas for Australia Day – fitting for the largest ski resort in the United States, don’t you reckon?

Stop by the Legacy Lodge at the Park City Base and The Umbrella Bar in Canyons Village. Both bases will have après music thumping from 2:30-4:30PM. There will be giveaways and Aussie stickers to show off your patriotic pride. Looking to get your fix of food from back home? The Umbrella Bar will be serving up sausage sangers and fish ‘n’ chips. Head to Legacy Lodge for meat pies and lamingtons.

Don’t forget to capture the celebration with an EpicMix photo. EpicMix photographers are on-mountain – look for the bright green uniforms. Digital photos taken by the professional photographers are free and automatically uploaded into your Epic Mix app.

Download the free EpicMix app to your iPhone or Android to see and share your photos. Plus you can use the app to view lift-line wait times, check mountain conditions, track your ski stats (vertical feet skied) and more. You’ll even get an Aussie Day pin for skiing or riding on January 26th!

So, while you’re friends are whinging about the heat back home, it’ll be going off at Vail and Park City.

PS – We won’t tell your boss if you end up chucking a sickie to come visit us; but leave your togs at home – unless you’re getting cheeky with your patriotic dress.
