Photo gallery: Aussie ski resorts celebrate powder storm in summer!

Hotham, December 2.

Winter is well and truly drunk, munted, off it’s head and shooting up unicorns in Australia right now with over 20 centimetres of powder snow sending the snow internet into a frenzy down under.

December 1 is the official first day of summer in the antipodes and Ullr spent the day sprinkling white flakes upon the alpine regions of Australia. Clearly not satisfied with a dusting, Ullr then went full feral with after dark dumpage.

By this morning Australia’s ski resorts were looking like mid winter on resort cams and southern social feeds were filled with snow laden gumtrees and confused kangaroos.

Falls Creek in Victoria were calling 25 centimetres with more snow falling today.

It’s official, summer is on strike in the alpine mountains. Here’s a selection of videos and images to prove it.

Hotham this morning

It was deep at Hotham this morning.

Falls Creek Kangaroo turned Confuse-a-roo

How to confuse a roo? Just add snow in summer.

Charlotte Pass with Didj Hopkins

Good old Didj had a crack at summer, no winter, no summer, at Charlotte Pass today.

First turns at Perisher

Someone had to do it, so they did.

Want more?

How about a Mt Bullerdozer. See what we did there?

And just before we go…

Falls Creek locals were digging for cars today.

The “good news” is there’s still more snow to come. Check out our forecasts.
