Planning your next ski trip or just dreaming about your bucket list? Then get yourselves to the Snow Travel Expo in Sydney on May 20 and Melbourne on May 27 for the latest from the world’s best ski resorts, snow gear and ski brands.

We’ve got 7 reasons why you should be there.

  1. Resorts resorts resorts

Representatives from over 70 resorts will be displaying their wares at the Snow Travel Expo this year in both Sydney and Melbourne. Regardless of what kind of adventure you’re considering – whether it’s an extended family trip to Whistler next season, or a quick getaway to Thredbo sometime in August – you’ll be able to speak to someone at the show about anything you have in mind, get their top recommendations, and even check out the special show deals they may have on offer.

As Australia’s most comprehensive ski show, there’s a huge variety of countries covered at the show, including Japan, Canada, Europe, Korea, Chile, Kashmir, Australia, New Zealand and the USA.

Come armed with a variety of questions, or simply have a walk through each of the stalls and see what interests you most. Just be sure to set a good chunk of time aside for the show, as you can easily spend hours exploring all the options on offer.

2. The travel experts

At the show, you’ll have the opportunity to speak to over 20 snow travel specialists. Want to speak to Air Canada about the services offered in Premium Economy? Or maybe you’d like to speak to a tour operator about the specific tours they offer for those in the 50+ age range? They’ll be there, ready to chat, and generally also offering up deals that are show-specific just for those in attendance.

3. The gear

If you’re in the mood for shopping, this is where you need to be. Check out the latest gear on offer – everything from skis and snowboards to goggles, helmets and gloves. Pick up a pair of mitts for a discounted show price, scope out the new season’s outerwear, admire the advances in technology and speak to some of the most experienced people in the field. You may just find your new favourite bootfitter or the new must-download snow app.

4. The presentations

From the time the show opens at 9am, there’s a line-up of presentations scheduled in for the day. You can hear about the magic of skiing the Andes Mountains in Chile and Val Thorens in France, watch a presentation from Steven Bradbury, Australia’s first winter gold medalist, and even get an inside scoop on skiing with penguins in Antarctica and snow leopards in Kashmir with Bills Trips – and that’s just to name a few.

5. The kids activities (and the grown-up ones)

Kids won’t be bored at the Snow Travel Expo. They’ll love the climbing wall, the snow play area, the Ski Utah photo booth and collecting the fun little bits and pieces that the resorts have to give away. Stickers, anyone?

Meanwhile, big kids will be entertained by the Globe Sydney Rail Jam, featuring the city’s best riders throwing it down, as well as the Experience Tesla area and the Ikon Pass Apre Lounge, where you can drink a glass of GH Mumm champagne and relax.

Did we mention dogs? Dog lovers will be in bliss with the Saint Bernard dogs attending the Sydney show – go say hi and support their rescue dog program.

6. The giveaways
