Five gondola cabins collided at Zillertal ski resort in Austria on Sunday morning as wild weather rocked the alps.

The good news is no one was injured as the cabins were empty as the resort had already pulled the pin on the gondola operating due to weather conditions, as reported by the local newspaper in Salzburg.

The gondola opened this year after replacing a four seater chairlift.

It’s not the first gondola incident of this season as Copper Mountain’s new gondola had a cabin crash to the ground during testing before opening this season.

Could be worse, there could have been people on the lift. Who can forget the out of control chairlift in Georgia last year that injured numerous skiers when it went into meltdown.
