Still looking for that perfect Christmas gift for that special someone? How about a ski resort?

Yes, it’s a little hard to gift wrap and fit under the tree but it’s sure to win you serious brownie points with that skier or snowboarder in your life. We’ve found this one for under US$795 000 so you’ll have change from that million dollar bill.

The Norway Mountain Ski Resort is in Michigan in the USA and last operated during the 2016/2017 season. But if you’re willing to put in a bit of elbow grease you could have it open for commercial operations again or just simply keep it for yourself as a private ski field.

You’ll get 178 skiable acres of terrain with 152 metres (500 feet) of vertical. We’re not talking Jackson Hole here but for $795k you get what you pay for. Expect 17 ski runs, 2 chairlifts and 3 rope tows plus various snow making elements and groomers.

The official sales flyer says the resort features beginner runs to true black diamonds but I guess it’s all relative. There is a bar and dining room in a resort chalet that sits on the top of the ski hill, a conference hall for events and best of all, a frisbee golf course. Now we’re talking.

Annual natural snowfall is around 2.5 metres (100 inches) but with cold temps you can whip up some man made snow overnight in time for breakfast.
