The industry wide Victorian Alps Relief Auction last November was led by Amer Sports to help the decimated alpine regions of Victoria after the bushfires then Covid.

$30,500 of grants have now been announced thanks to the generous auction bidding from the Australian ski and snowboard community, together with funds from Into Our Hands Community Foundation.

The funding will support projects such as a new safety beacon for Mt Hotham to enhance safety measures for back country users, programs to encourage alpine recreation and tourism, emergency disaster relief through Anglicare for food, travel and fuel vouchers, through to community events such as The Winterwords Festival in Beechworth and the Dederang Community Race Day just to name some of the successful grant recipients.

Grants have been awarded to the following organisations.

Mt Beauty Men’s shed – ICT support for equipment.

Winterwords Festival Beechworth – community festival.

Dinner Plane Landcare Group Enviro Workshop – environment workshop.

Traverse Hotham – increase local participation in cross country skiing.

Beechworth Secondary College – music program.

First Fall Films – freeride world tour documentary for Mount Hotham pitch.

Dederang Picnic Races – community Event.

Vic Back Country- increase local participation in back country recreation.
