The crew at Hotham in Victoria are laying it on for the ladies in August and September this snow season with some rocking events, including the Furphy Night Rail Jam with equal prize money for both genders.

Whether you snowboard or ski, rock the park or rock the groomers or prefer the powder, Hotham has you covered to encourage more chicks into snow sports and to support your progression from beginner through to pro.

Saturday night chic

Try Park Chics every Saturday night from 6pm to 8pm for girls run by girls. Hotham’s team of female snowboard coaches will help you brush up your freestyle skills in the company of other females doing the same in a fun, relaxed and supportive environment. The program offers up two hours of coaching for $77 with fellow riders of similar ability.

Make some mullah

Got some park skills and want to win some prize money? The Furphy Night Rail Jam is on August 11 and open to skiers and boarders over 18. There’s AU$750 first prize up for grabs for both the women and the men’s board categories.

Yuki Bird Sessions

Put Saturday August 18 in your diary. The Yuki Birds is a free female snowboard only event which aims to reduce the intimidation that puts girls off entering the park. The first 50 registered will receive a Yuki Threads goodie bag valued at AU$70.

You’ll receive guidance from two coaches per 10 participants and you’ll be set up in groups with riders of similar abilities. There’ll be a photographer and videographer on the day to capture you making your mark.

Chicks with Stix

This year there’s not one, not two, but three separate days you can join Chicks with Stix at Hotham from September 14 to September 16. Come for one day, join for two or rock up for all three.

Chicks wanting to meet new friends, hang with old and gain confidence with a group of like minded females, can also hang with Australia’s top ski and snowboard athlete coaches and focus on freestyle, freeride or park.

If you are a female who is confident on blue runs and looking to progress your skills, then these Chicks with Stix sessions are for you.
