As if owning your own ski area wasn’t enough to shoot you straight to the top of the boasting rights table. Now you can own one with a giant water slide, go karts and more.
Bousquet ski area sits in the famed Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts where New York and Boston urbanites go for mountain respite and is currently for sale for US$2.8 million (AU$3.8 million).
The mountain opened in 1932 making it one of the oldest in the USA. Today, the ski area is a year round resort and the new owners will also acquire a water park, go karts, zip lies and the like.
The ski area is near the city of Pittsfield and has produced five US Olympic downhill skiers. Heidi Voelker and Kim and Krista Schmidigner all grew up skiing here. Purchasers can expect 155 acres of land, multiple buildings and a local ski area with snow making and night skiing.
The ski resort features 21 trails with five lifts and a mix of terrain including 34% beginner, 33% intermediate and 33% advanced.
It’s not a huge resort, it’s more boutique ma and pa than big city lights. The vertical is a mere 230 metres but the snow making ensures consistent snow throughout the season.
